Nature of Complaint

Karen this is day 5 straight where all night they have burning straight creosote. My family may have got a total of 2 hours each night of sleep.They are not burning this stuff during the day time.They are burning it 100 percent at night.we are all dizzy and have headaches. This is human torture in America. I wish this on no one.Its absolutely terrible we live in a country where its legal to let a industry poison its community to the point where they've lost all quality of life and health.I dont know what standards they are telling you they are meeting but I'm telling you they are lying and burning straight creosote all night and .They need to be held accountable. I'm calling all the news stations and calling public health this morning. It's the only thing I can do .I'm also emailing the governor's office.Anything you can do to stop this and give us some relief would be greatly appreciated. Adam Gibby.

Complaint added to the CTS for documentation. We continue to receive multiple complaints regarding GRP and National Salvage and are taking enforcement action regarding fugitive emissions, while continuing to investigate allegations that the 20% limit is being exceeded.

Mr. Gibby's response to my question about burning 100% railroad ties is below: Is anyone visiting the plant at night and early morning hours ?The plant runs harder and puts out alot more smoke at night till around daylight.The smoke burns my eyes and throat and causes constant headaches all night . They grind the ties all day and I can smell the raw railroad ties during the day along with the smell coming from the stack when it blows in our direction. I have no proof to back my accusations up other than we are all having to shelter in place and not leave our houses, so I can tell you with only the severity of our symptoms in the day time is a little less than it is at night.There only seems to be brief periods of relief when the wind changes.This time of year the wind blow from that direction more. I dont trust anything grp is reporting that they are doing to meet regulations and I would suggest know one else trust them at there word either.If they are going to stick to certain regulations then they will have to be made to.They have blatantly lied to everyone on numerous occasions, and been caught and proven to be lying. This is going to have to stop.We can be sheltered in place and poised in our on holmes.It immoral and inhumane.

Email to Mr. Gibby on 3/30: Georgia EPD continues to investigate complaints about Georgia Renewable Power and National Salvage. I received several over this weekend alone. So, far we have not found any evidence that they are burning more than 20% railroad ties. Can you tell me more about your allegation that they are burning 100% railroad ties at night?
