Nature of Complaint

I am sending this email to express my concern on the air pollution being created by the Biomass Power Plant, a subsidiary of Georgia Renewable Power. The plant is located at 125 H V Chandler Rd, Colbert, GA. The plant is suppose to be burning wood chips to create steam for electric power production, but they are also burning railroad ties. I understand that the burning of Creosote treated railroad ties creates a health risk when inhaled. There is also plans for chicken litter to be burned. Thank you for your time

Follow-Up Investigation

3‑Oct‑2019 by Pierre Sanon

EPD Engineers (Bob Scott, Pierre Sanon and Ray Shen) visited the GRP facility on 10/2/19 to observe operations. Facility was operating at high loads during the time of inspection with no V.E emanating from source stack. Facility is also conducting "start-up and Commissioning" and have up to 180 days from initial startup (May 2019) to conduct required performance tests for the state. No compliance issues were noted during the time of inspection.
