Initial Investigation

1903 received page from GEMA.  Was briefed by operator Phillip Lewis.  He advised that Effingham Co 911 dispatch wanted a call too.  912-754-8119. 1911 talked with caller and she advised that a tractor trailer was leaking diesel fuel from his saddle tank in multiple locations over a 10 mile stretch.  They estimate 100 gallons maximum spilled.  Some fuel leaked at GP's entrance gate.  Then he drove to the warehouse across the street and some fuel leaked there in that parking lot.  He left that site and went down the road to their other entrance gate going to their landfill and he stayed there.  The majority of the fuel leaked at that GP gate onto soil.  They have a landfill contractor that can clean the area and properly dispose of the impacted soil. 1915 talked with 911 operator and she advised that the fuel is spread over a 10 mile area with concentration in the locations where the driver stopped.  It is raining and the fuel is going into a retention pond at the NFI Warehouse across from GA Pacific.  They have put out pads and boom. 1938 Mary called back to say that she is going to notify NRC too.
