Nature of Complaint
Complaint is described as active and ongoing — reported as recurring periodically over the past year and continuing now 1. Clear-cutting of riverfront land along the Coosawattee River, with downed trees pushed into the river itself. 2. Grading of the slope where the mountain meets the river into a flat surface, using excavators, skid steers, backhoes and other heavy machinery — apparently to allow a utility vehicle to be driven down to the river. 3. Daily piling and open burning of the cleared vegetation (trees, brush, roots), which the reporter believes is intended to dispose of the evidence of the clearing. 4. Sand hauled in and placed at the river during the past year; recent floods washed it into the river. 5. The reporter states the property owners are performing some of the work themselves and are associated with contractors who own the heavy equipment. This complaint is potentially related to CTS #'s 99158 and 97776
