Nature of Complaint
Tip or Complaint: The pictures show that on parcels 3051AB008, 009, and 015, the 25-foot buffer along Mountaintown Creek, a secondary trout stream, has been completely cleared with the exception of a few trees. However it's clear some trees near the creek were chain sawed. Look carefully at the pictures you can see the dramatic change from lot 007 and 010 where no land disturbance was The understory, saplings, and groundcover are gone, slopes are exposed, and the disturbance appears mechanized rather than hand-pruned. Despite this, the Local Issuing Authority has ignored the violations, and GA EPD has deferred responsibility back to the LIA, leaving the buffer unprotected. Someone should really open there eyes to see the ongoing lack of enforcement of GESA buffer laws as well as the Environmental Protection Agency. Let's protect the trout streams in North GA not destroy them.
