Spoke with the Mayor; he said the area has dried up and that they have not had any additional issues at this site. I recommend the complaint be closed.

Photos received from the Mayor of the complainant's front yard where the sewage overflow had been roped off and a notice posted.

Initial Investigation

16‑Feb‑2024 by Lisa Myler

Spoke with the complainant and let her know what the city said. I also informed her that the City had properly notified EPD of the spill and are actively working on major system upgrades. Unfortunately it will be 1-3 years before she sees an improvement in her area. She was appreciative of the information.

Initial Investigation

16‑Feb‑2024 by Lisa Myler

Spoke with the Mayor. He said that he had reported the spill to Linda (see attached spill letter and notification) and had posted the spill notification near the spill location. Due to heavy rains, the sewer system is at capacity. The public works employee is manually running both pumps at the lift station nearest this manhole to control the overflow. The employee did notice additional flow from the manhole today while he was onsite. They are actively working to control the issue.
